What's happening about The Crown Hotel?

Our poor old Crown Hotel on the High Street has been empty and neglected for years. Many concerned local people have tried to find out what is going on by contacting our new MP Jess Asato. 

On Fri 21 March Jess hosted a meeting in the Mayfly with interested parties, including representatives of MEC, officers and councillors from East Suffolk and Lowestoft Town Councils as well as Historic England to discuss what's been done and what can be done to get The Crown back to its former glory.

Lowestoft Town Councillors made the point that if the Town Hall is to host weddings then there will be need of a 'nice' hotel where wedding guests can stay; others at the meeting who remembered going to the Crown made the point that many a good night had been had there over the years!

There will be an update soon ... dare we hope that things are moving?
